James B. Carothers Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James B. Carothers in Lawrence, Kansas, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on July 9, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, James is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that James' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barrett Carothers and Eva Carothers. He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his children, Cathleen and Michael (Karmel); his grandchildren, Nicholas and Kelsey Bernard (Charlie); and his great grandchild Bentley Bernard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the KU Honors Program for study abroad (via KU Endowment or Warren-McElwain Mortuary).
