He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Met Hughes and Lorene Hughes; his children, Steven Hughes (Ruth Allee Hughes) of Lawrence and Deborah Engelbrecht; his son-in-law Earl of Lee's Summit; his daughter Mary Kay Merrill (Bill) of Grand Junction, Colorado; his grandchildren, Nick Engelbrecht MD (Sabra), Lora Engelbrecht Sebold, Amber Hughes Merrill (Dimitri) and Cameron Hughes (Emma); and his great grandchildren, Savannah, Sarah, Sidney, Sutton Sebold, Dawson, Leo Engelbrecht, Metlin, Milo Merrill and Graham Hughes (Hopper).
