With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Louise Lucas of Lawrence, Kansas, born in Mayfield, Kansas, who passed away on March 25, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, CJ Metzen and Barbara Metzen (Strunk); her stepmother Sis Metzen; and her sister Marilyn Cook. She is survived by: her husband Danny Lucas; her children, Janice of Wellington, Jerry Lucas (Mary Ann) of Derby and Julie Manning (Danny) of Chevy Chase, Maryland; her grandchildren, Bryanna Spafford (David), Staci Reuter (Brad), Jessica Lucas, Spencer Furman, Nic Lucas, Mary Lucas, Taylor Manning and Evan Manning; her great grandchildren, Mia Kate, Camryn, Ava, Reigner, Jill, Corbin, Jaclyn and Carson; and her siblings, Patsy Robinson, Sheryl Shepard, Darlene Coburn, Dennis, Johnny, Raymond and Ron Metzen. She is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces, as well as her many bonus grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in her name to Visiting Nurses Hospice in Lawrence or Kansas Athletics Williams Educational Fund in memory of Betty Lucas or the charity of your choice.
