She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lyle Duane and Dorothy Louise Smelser (Crane); her son Dr. Ryan Scott Bisel (Adele); her grandchildren, Evelyn, Grant Burgess, Phoebe and Moses Bisel; and her daughter Kristi Bisel Burgess (Thomas).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary (120 W 13th St, Lawrence, KS 66044). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lawrence Heights Christian Church (2321 Peterson Rd, Lawrence, KS 66049). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604).
