She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lester D. Proctor and Hazel Proctor (Hudson); her husband Robert Bright; her children, Terrence Lee Bright, Jeffrey Lynn Bright and Terry Bright (Kathy); her grandson Joshua Bright; her children, Jacob Bright and Jordan Montasser (Rob Montasser); and her siblings, Carol Guy (John Guy), Robert Proctor (Kathy Proctor), Richard Proctor and Lester N. Proctor. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
Darlene was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrence where she taught Sunday and Vacation Bible Schools, made and donated crafts for holiday bazaars, and chaired a committee providing funeral dinners for families.
