It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Hughes of Lawrence, Kansas, born in Melvern, Kansas, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Yockey and Beulah Yockey; her husband Dale E. Hughes; her daughter Diane Laverne; and the parents of child, John and Beulah Yockey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beverly Westhoff (Wayne) and Pamela Berger (Steven); her grandsons, Chad Westhoff (Jana), Ryan Westhoff (Ashley), Nicholas Berger (Raegann) and Thomas Berger (Kara); her great grandchildren, Colton Berger, Miles Berger, Luke Westhoff and Daphne Westhoff; and her siblings, Patricia Sawin (Robert), Karen Winters and Gary Yockey (Linda).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Rainbow Restoration (1310 Research Park Dr, Lawrence, KS 66049). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home (801 Garrettson St, Burlington, KS 66839). The inurnment was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at the Waverly Cemetery (2522 Underwood Rd, Waverly, KS 66871).
