He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvestre Hernandez and Benita Cruz Hernandez; his son Jackie Wise; and his brothers, Julian, Junior, Frank, Eleno, Guadalupe and Ramiro Hernandez.
He is survived by: his children, Chiefs, Jayhawks and Royals; his wife Bonnie Sue Hernandez (Susan); and his children, Sylvia Avey (Bret) of Anchorage, Richard Wise of Lawrence, Al Hernandez of Lawrence and Chastity Lattin (Todd) of Blue Springs. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
