He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frederick and Bertha Dugger Fairchild; his former wife Caroline Clawson; and his sisters, Betty Jean Fairchild, Norma Lee Fairchild and Alice Joan Strobel.
He is survived by: his children, William Richard Fairchild (Karen), Brian Dean Fairchild (Milica), Debra Batchman (Richard) of Marionville, MO, Kathy Sharp (Cecil) and Rhonda Glenn (Jerry); his stepchildren, Melanie Bolinger (Clay), Shawnee and Jonathan Trackwell; and his sisters, Carol May Beaudion of Kallispell, MT, Fayetteville and Brenda Sue Barker. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Leader Dog, First Christian Church (DOC) Great Bend or Ft Larned Foundation for Education, all in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO.
