He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Mitchell and Agnes Schmaltz Mitchell; and his sister Tracy Kottmeyer. He is survived by: his children, Stacey Rein (Bob), Ryan Mitchell (Becka) and Jeff Mitchell (Heather); his sisters, Donna Thatcher, Debbie Allen and Sandy Holub (Tom); and his grandchildren, Lexi, Dalton, Jameson, Alaina, Kole, Gillian, Audrey, Tyson and Kason.

Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
