He was predeceased by: his parents, John Welch and Essie Baugher Welch; and his sisters, Lavina Scheuerman and Linda Drews. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Holaday (Tom) and John D. Welch; his close friend Coreen Augustine; his sister Edwyna Barstow (Bob); his grandchildren, Christina Blain (Derek), David Welch (Daisy), Heather Holaday (Jacob Woods) and Luke Welch; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Brecklynn, John, Matthew and Theo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and Floyd, the cat.
