She was predeceased by: her parents, Cliff E. Bright and Margaret Pauline "Polly" Simpson Bright; and her son Greg Schartz. She is survived by: her husband Gregory Lynn Schartz; her children, Alexis Williams (David) and Scott Schartz (Lori Perez); her siblings, Joann Bright, Patricia Scheer and Charles "Bud" Bright; and her granddaughter Gabbie Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pawnee County Humane Society or the Pawnee County 4-H Foundation in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
