He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Dykstra and Barbara Dykstra (Moore). He is survived by: his former wife Laura Burghart; his wife Cindy Means-Dykstra; his children, Adrienne Neaderhiser (Timothy) of Franktown, Allison Dykstra of Kansas City and Chad Dykstra of Lakin, Kansas; his stepchildren, Shannon Irsik (Jon) of Garden City, Kansas, Josh Abeyta of Garden City, Kansas and Amber Hamill of Garden City, Kansas; and his siblings, Diane Dykstra of Atchison, Kansas, Kevin Dykstra of Atchison, Kansas and David Dykstra of Atchison, Kansas. He is also survived by ten Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials given to the Kearny County Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin, Kansas.
