He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond H. Smith and Rose Smith (Dreiling); and his brother Kenneth. He is survived by: his wife Twila; his daughters, Sonja Howle (Michael) of Boerne, Texas, Karla Spencer (Kyle) of Scott City and Michelle Martin of Nathrop, Colorado.; his grandsons, Derek Jones (Jennifer) of Albany, Oregon, Dustin Jones and Chelsie VanCleave of Lakin; his stepgrandchild Haley Howle; his great grandchildren, Ava, Logan Jones of Albany and Imori Jones of Lakin; and also Twila.
The family has requested any donations go to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Kearny County Senior Center, or The Kearny County Historical Society, all of Lakin and in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
