He is survived by: his wife Corrine Bates; his children, Colleen Gaschler (Wayne) of Garden City, Norma Spangler (Monty) of Holcomb and Kelly Bates (Wendy) of Longview; his sisters, Elinor Paasch of Springdale, Nina Birkle of Garden City and Louise Hokanson (Curt) of Wichita; his siblings-in-law, Melvin Mott of Garden City, Ray Brenning of Garden City and Flo Bates of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Andrew Frey (Laurel), Hilary Whiteley (Jeremy), McKenzie Shapland (Shad), Tanner Spangler, Wes Spangler, Jackson Bates, Cameron Bates and Chloe Bates; and his great grandchildren, Carson Baker, Jaxson Shapland, Emma Shapland, Adilyn Shapland, Karson Whiteley, Elijah Spangler and Daniel Spangler.
