He was predeceased by: his parents, Houston David and Ruth Mary Burton (Coghill); his brother Sam Burton; his uncle Gene Coghill; and his close friends, Ernie and Alan.
He is survived by: his former wife Liz Smith; his sons, David Jr. of Dodge City, Kansas, Derek of Dodge City, Kansas and Daniel Burton of Dodge City, Kansas; his siblings, Larry Burton (Laura), Charlotte Wallace and Rose Sober (Greg); his grandchildren, Shawn, Makayla, Ryan, Brooklynn, Gracie and Joshua; and his uncle Ken Burton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; aunt.
The family suggests memorials to the David Burton Memorial Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
