He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald L. Long and Edna Long (LaRosh); and his siblings, Paul, Robert Long, Carol Heald and Ruth York.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Long (Riley); and his children, Richard Long (Phyllis), Dennis Long (Evelyn), Rick Ratty (Trudi), Randy Ratty (Brenda) and Stacy Longgood (John). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 24 great grand children.
