He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Jacobs and Mary Elizabeth Jacobs (Schmidt); his wife Barbara A. Barnett; and his siblings, Celestine "Celly" Jacobs, Eugene Jacobs, Virgil Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, William "Bill" Jacobs, Leona Leiker, Albina Birney, Elenora Holzmeister, Louise Besperat and Viola Dreher.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Jacque Blair (Roger), Mary Ann Willems (Neil) and Linda Riedel (Don); his stepgrandchildren, Amber Russell (Brian), Chad Tylicki (Mandi), Paul Willems, Stephanie Blair, Shannon Bennett (Casey), Aaron Riedel (Sarah) and Jordon Riedel; and his siblings, Leroy Jacobs, Jerry Jacobs and Mary Lou Warren. He is also survived by nine step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Knights of Columbus Council 2970, La Crosse, Kansas, or the American Cancer Society.
