She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Schaffer and Clara Schaffer (Unrein); her brothers, Ernest Schaffer and Conrad Schaffer; and her husband Richard (Jim Cairns) of Hays.
She is survived by: her sisters, Sherry Kershner (Jim) of La Crosse and Sandra Robben (Mike) of Victoria; her children, Bryan Herrman (Deb) of Lake Winnebago, Debbie Oborny (Frank) of Rye Colorado and Sonya Garrett (Mark Reade) of Hays; her grandchildren, Alyssa Auerbach (Paul), Chelsia Oborny, Grant Herrman, Carter Herrman, Kendahl Goetzmann (Brett) and Abby Garrett; and her great grandchildren, Vera Auerbach and Stella Auerbach. She is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas.
