He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Melton and Marguerite Miracle Melton; his wife Genevieve Sinnett Melton; and his children, Sheila Watkins, Teia Melton and Richie Melton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Gault and Felicia Ryder. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
