He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Schmitz and Josephine Simmons Schmitz; his wife Eula Jean Boydston; his son Dallas; his siblings, Leroy Schmitz, Betty Oeding and Louella Schmitz; his grandchildren, Nikki, Candi and Lexi; his great grandchildren, Thea and Dan; and his brother Elmer.
