He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Zerger and Emma Kaufman Zerger; his wife Arlene Schrag; his children, Linn Zerger, Darrin Zerger (Sheri) and Charlene Childs; and his brothers, Waldo, Carl and Glen. He was also cherished by 5 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made with First Mennonite Church or Rivercross Hospice both in care of the funeral home.
