She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Mertens and Lucille Miller Mertens; her siblings, Edwin, Lawrence, John Mertens, Dorothy Swartz and Rosella Henning; and her granddaughter Nicole Marie Beat.
She is survived by: her husband Oscar Julius Jacobs; her children, Dan, David (Linda), Dean, Donna Ratzlaff (Tom), Debra Lorg, Dianne Taber, Denise Baker (Greg), Darlene Jacobs and Doris Boroughs; and her siblings, Leo, Leroy, Donald, Ronald "Gene", Marvin Mertens, Pauline Jacobs, Helen Meyers and Karen Lubbers. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made with the St. Louis Catholic Church, the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Paramount HCF and Good Shepherd Hospice, all in care of Livingston Funeral Home.
