With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Vandevord in Kansas City, Kansas, born in Topeka, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 1, 2024 at the age of 61. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Vandevord and Mary Vandevord (Fisher); and his brother Steve Vandevord. He is survived by: his wife Heidi Vandevord; his children, Gretchen Vandevord (Matt), Dakota Vandevord (Kaitlin), Ali Vandevord and Eli Vandevord; his grandchildren, Delaney, Kash Vandevord, Winslow and Wetzel Butler; and his sisters, Tina Burkett (Eddie), Eugenia Akers and Cindy Cordonier. He is also survived by several other family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Federated Church of Burlingame (322 S Topeka Ave, Burlingame, KS 66413).
