Terry OBrien wrote a sympathy message

“I was so very touched when Christine asked me to lead Larry's funeral. Sadly, we will be out of town. I was honored to Eulogize at both Al and Vera's service. I have told many folks that Larry was always his own person, walking to a very different drum than most. He did things his way. His way always included loving his wife and offspring. I booked the Wood Duo at the Uptown Theater where they got great marks from agents and peers. He will be sadly missed.”

“So so sorry Christine and family. Though I am not a part of the very close circle of friends and family that you have, I want you to know that Larry, his music, the Wood Band, and Christine have played a VERY important part in my life journey so far. All of you are good, down to earth people, and Larry and his influence will certainly be missed by many, including me. All the best to you...”
