She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Hamilton and John James Buckner; her siblings, James Lee and Carol Buckner; her son Sherman Henry Shephard Jr.; her great grandchildren, William Henry and Will Sherman Shephard; her niece Dixie Ridgnal; and her sister Sylvia Sims.
She is survived by: her children, Shari Kennedy, Shermaine Currie (Clifford), LaTonya Taylor (Clarance), DeLinda Johnson, Dante Shephard, Desmond Williams (Maryam) and Richard Crawford; her grandchildren, Charlene Kennedy, Leah Cotton, Aretha Scott, Shaunika Cotton, Douglas Kennedy Jr. (Tanari), Joyce Cotton and Leonard Johnson (Tameeka); and her great grandchildren, Andre, Caleal (Nevaeh), Ken Jr., Patrick Jr., Kendall, Kemani, LaMarion, Keziah, Kairo, Te'za, Aliyah, Cannady, Kaitlynn, Aubree Mae, Christian and Thalia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and at 12:00 PM at the New Bethel Church (745 Walker Ave, Kansas City, KS 66102).
