He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothea Meyer and Ludwig Meyer; his wife Antje; his son Fred Jr.; and his grandchild Andrea.

He is survived by: his daughter Claudia Meyer Boyles (Marty) of Garden City, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Krystal LaBonta (Allan), Alan Boyles (Emily), Benjamin Boyles (Victoria), Heidi Moore (Andrew), Brent Meyer, Michael Meyer, Harley Meyer (Syndi) and Jennifer Lucas (Cole).
