He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Brooks, Sr. and Bernice Brooks (Bolden); his son Wendell Brooks, Jr.; his brother Gerald Brooks; and his aunt Mona Bolden.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel; his children, Jennifer Brooks of Junction City, Michael Brooks of Junction City, Barbara Brooks of San Antonio and Robert Brooks of Junction City, Kansas; his grandchildren, Jordan, Adonis Brooks, Pax, Layla, Nathaniel and Wyatt; and his friends, John Torres, Amy Fernandez and Joel Celestin.
