It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viranda I. Slappy (Junction City, Kansas), who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie James Nottingham, Sr. of Prince Hall and Viriam Purnell Bowman. She is survived by: her children, Zsashamica Demetricus McCray (Elijah) and John Cecil Slappy, Jr.; her husband John Slappy, Sr.; her grandchildren, Janiyah Viriam McCray, Gevion Kimbrel Slappy and Braidan Michael Odell; her siblings, Patricia Fitzpatrick (Glenn), Willie James Nottingham, Jr. and Michael Nottingham (Angela); and her nieces, LaShawn Garey (Chris) and Shameki Nottingham. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (203 N Washington St, Junction City, KS 66441). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Johnson and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home (203 N Washington St, Junction City, KS 66441).
