He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Eckhardt and Olinda Eckhardt (Hilderman). He is survived by: his children, Kevin Eckhardt of Scottsdale, Arizona and Erika McAdams (Jeremy) of Ankeny, Iowa; his grandchildren, Copeland Eckhardt, Harper McAdams and Dylan McAdams; and his sister Diane Tatro of Tucumcari.
