With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Orville Smith of Junction City, Kansas, who passed away on March 20, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Smith and Ruth Smith (Miller); his children, Robert J. Smith and Cindy Melcher; and his brother John "Jack" B. Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ruth Rahe; his daughter Pat Mock (Armin) of Wichita, Kansas; his grandchildren, Heather Mock of Wichita, Beth Huff (Marc) of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jeremy Mock (Mallory) of Derby, Kansas; and his son-in-law Ernest Melcher of Thorndale, Texas. He is also survived by five great-grandsons; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Geary County 4-H, or Phoenix Home Care & Hospice of Wichita.
