Marlene Ruth Smith Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Ruth Smith of Junction City, Kansas, born in Palmer, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 16, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Rahe and Clara Rahe (Rodehorst); her husband Orville Jerry Smith; her children, Robert J. Smith and Cindy Melcher; and her brothers, Robert Rahe and Elmo Rahe.
She is survived by: her daughter Pat Mock (Armin) of Wichita, Kansas; her brother Ronald Rahe (Alethia) of Salina, Kansas; her grandchildren, Heather Mock of Wichita, Beth Huff (Marc) of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jeremy Mock (Mallory) of Derby, Kansas; and her son-in-law Ernest Melcher of Thorndale, Texas. She is also survived by five great-grandsons; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Phoenix Home Care & Hospice of Wichita, Kansas, or Geary County 4-H. Marlene was born October 13, 1933, in Palmer, Kansas, the daughter of Emil and Clara (Rodehorst) Rahe.
