He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Chaves and Glorcia Rhodeman; and his brother Leon Chaves. He is survived by: his son Leslie "Chuggs" Chaves, Jr.; and his siblings, Leonetta Bibby of Junction City, Kansas and Michael Chaves (Linde) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado..
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Second Missionary Baptist Church (701 W 10th St, Junction City, KS 66441). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Highland Cemetery (703 W Ash St, Junction City, KS 66441).
