She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Shirack and Jean Shirack (Carlin); her husband Vernon E. Hecker of Salina; and her brother Larry Shirack. She is survived by: her children, James Hecker of Salina, Kansas, Jean Wolford (Ron) of Junction City, Julie Taylor (Pat) of Wichita and Diane Kramer (Larry) of Junction City, Kansas; and her siblings, Mike Shirack (Diane) of Parker, Colorado, Jeannine Schott of Chicago, Myrle Carlson of Sherman Oaks and Janice Krause of Salina, Kansas.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and thirty four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home (203 N Washington St, Junction City, KS 66441). A rosary was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (218 N Washington St, Junction City, KS 66441).

Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to St. Xavier Catholic Parish or to the Chapman Valley Manor.
