He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bowie and Winnifred Burk Whipple; his daughter Machele Reneé Whipple; and his siblings, Henry Whipple, Alberta Reiger and Roberta Winget.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marcia Hahn (Jay), Marla Burns (Jay) and Marlene Maupin; and his brother David Whipple. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
