He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Birdell and Ammie Killgore Fakes; and his siblings, Howard Stephenson, Herman Fakes, Mervin Fakes, Virgil Fakes, Rosie Berger, Bertie Simpson, Eva Thomas and Odessa Smith.
He is survived by: his children, John Fakes and Nancy Lucas (Terry); his grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelly, Jessica, Zachary and Jeremy; and his great grandchildren, Jennifer, Madison, Brooklyn, Rayne, Mabel, Cooper, Elliott and Levi.
