With solemn reverence, we commemorate Edith Marie Herbin of Jamestown, Kansas, whose life came to an end on February 12, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Nordhus and Josepha Nordhus (Dwerlkotte); her spouse Armin John Herbin of Gregory's Catholic Church; and her siblings, Norbert Nordhus, Victor Nordhus, Francis Nordhus, Betty Dam and James Nordhus.
She is survived by: her brother Jerry Nordhus of Shawnee, KS; and her children, John F Herbin of Jamestown, KS, Jean Meis (Fred) of Minden, NE, Mary Horan (John) of Chicago, IL, Ann Powell (Mike) of Topeka, KS and Margi Puckett (Duane) of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home (325 W 6th St, Concordia, KS 66901). A rosary was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (307 E 5th St, Concordia, KS 66901). A Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:15 PM to 4:30 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Jamestown City Library in care of the funeral home.
