It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vella Lower of Iola, Kansas, born in Garnett, Kansas, who passed away on November 22, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, D. Dale Hobart and Dema M. Hobart (Woods); her husband Gary K. Lower; her brother James L. Hobart; and her great grandchild Zachary Keith Shelly.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Hegwald of Omaha, Nebraska and Gary E. Lower (Shannon) of Iola; her grandchildren, Stacey Hegwald-Ebert (Lee) of Hamburg, James Lower (Jennifer) of Iola, Trevor Hegwald (Michelle) of Omaha, Jennifer Hegwald-Anania (Tony) of Omaha, Kasha Lower-Bain (Steven) of Iola and Gary M. Lower of Iola; and her siblings-in-law, Donald "Butch" Lower (Mary Anne) of Humboldt, Donna Lower-Nord of Iola and Judy Schroeder of Topeka, Kansas..
