It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Joyce Beal of Iola, Kansas, born in Weslaco, Texas, who passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Bennett and Josephine Bennett (Pinnell); her son Michael Wade Nichols; and her sister Billie Jo Ivey. She is survived by: her sons, Brian Shawn Nichols (Sandy) and Chris Nichols (Sherry Clary); her stepchildren, Rebecca Nettles (Alan) and Scott Beal; her grandchildren, Derek Nichols, Montana Hartzell, Melissa Richmond (Colt), Cody Beal, Makayla, Calleigh Beal, Bailey Wintermote (Matt) and Ainslee Nichols; her close friends, Mary and Bob Scovill; and her siblings, Steve Pinnell (Maxine), Pat Preset, Connie Walker (Leon) and Marsha Ivey. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
