We are sad to announce that on October 15, 2022, at the age of 94, Gertrude Elizabeth Meiwes (Iola, Kansas), born in Union City, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lagaly and Margaret Lagaly (Menz); her husband George Meiwes; her sons, Frank and Edward; and her sons-in-law, Jimmy Clements, Don Weston and Steve Rickson.

She is survived by: her children, Margie Clements of League City, George Meiwes (Janet), Paul Meiwes (Becky), Ann Weston, Karen Rickson, Gene Meiwes (Karen) and Janet Phillips (Dave); her daughter-in-law Michelle Meiwes; and her brother Lawrence (Betty). She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; a great-grandson.
