He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd F. McCrate and Hattie A. McCrate (Smith); his wife Alberta McCrate; and his siblings, Jennetta Rhodes and Jack McCrate.
He is survived by: his children, Michael McCrate of Iola, Pat McCrate of Iola, Nancy Maier of Iola and Susan Raines; his grandchildren, Ben Maier (Cassandra), Andrea Deatrich (David), Sean Maier (Kelci), Sarah Maier and Samantha Raines (Andrew Thomas); and his great grandchildren, Lucas Maier of Iola, KS, Dylan Deatrich and Scottsdale. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
