He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans William and Maybelle Ruth Maurer (Sauerbier); and his siblings, Gordon Maurer, John Maurer, Phyllis Maurer and Carol Ann Larson.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Maurer of Inman, Kansas; his children, Barbara Nelson (Greg) of Lansing, Bill Maurer (Keri) of Inman and Becky Knackstedt (Kendall) of Inman, Kansas; his sister Margaret Davis (Roy) of Florance, Oregon.; and his grandchildren, Bradley Maurer, Jackson Nelson, Lauren Maurer, Sydney Maurer, Kristen Knackstedt and Tanner Knackstedt.
