He was predeceased by: his parents, George K. Martens and Susie Martens (Loewen); his former wife Ruth Hiebert; his wife Betty Jane Giesel; his stepmother Anna Martens (Hiebert); his son-in-law Arden Penner; and his siblings, Lola Litwiller and Kenneth Martens.
He is survived by: his children, Duane Martens (Gayla) of Inman, KS, Shirley Penner of Inman, KS and Connie Koehn (Kevin) of Mayfield, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
