He was predeceased by: his parents, George K. Martens and Susie Martens (Loewen); his former wife Matilda "Tillie" Redger; his wife Juanita Buerge (Penner); his stepmother Anna Martens (Hiebert); and his sister Lola Litwiller.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Koehn (Robert) of Ulysses, KS, Susan Zeiset (Gayland) of Decatur, AR, Patricia Toews (Bob) of Lavonia, GA, Janelle Klassen (Cam) of Gentry, AR and Kendall Martens (Marlys) of Inman, KS; and his brother Robert Martens of Inman, KS. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.
