He is survived by: his former wife Ruth Nadine Ross; his children, Sharon Olivia Blackard (Sherry) of Independence, KS and William Wade Shipley (Bill); his wife Betty Wieser; his daughter Sherry; and his grandchildren, Sam Blackard (Mindy) of Independence, Roxanne Hoad (Russ) of Phillip Bay, NSW, Corinne Shipley of Revelstoke, Victoria Byrd (Andrew) of Springfield and Blair Hart (Meredith) of Austin. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
