He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Newkirk and Lorraine Newkirk of Independence; and his sister Martha Jane Burgett (Newkirk). He is survived by: his wife Karen Lynn Newkirk (Heald) of Independence; his son Philip Newkirk (Heather) of Neodesha; his brother Jonathan Newkirk (Carol) of Osawotomie; his brother-in-law John Burgett; and his grandchildren, Nora, Stella, Ellie and Jack. He is also survived by nephews, niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials may be left to First United Methodist Church in Bill's name, or to the charity of your choice.
