He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gibson and Lucille Gibson (Koontz); his wife Mary; his sons, John Curtis Gibson and Douglas Vincent Gibson; and his great grandchild Brandy Lynn Price.
He is survived by: his brothers, Charles "Sonny" Gibson of Alexandria, LA. and Lonnie Wayne Gibson; and his children, Stephen B. Gibson of Independence, Kansas, Deanna L. Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA, Janet L. Gibson of Grand Island, NE and Ann Marie Clark of Independence, Kansas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
