He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Gates (Theresa) of Independence, Kansas, Pam O'Daniel of Nashville and Judy O'Daniel of Independence, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Stacy Hickam (Matt) of Topeka, Morgan Decker (Lee) of Savannah, Georgia and Jennifer Navarro (Tony) of Payton Colorado. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
