Though Curtis Tex may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Curtis Tex touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smith and Lyda Smith. He is survived by: his wife Marie Chouinard Carpenter Smith; and his sisters, Polly Smith of St. Joseph and Sandra Jordan of St. Joseph. He is also survived by 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and also many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the First Chrisitan Church (319 W Laurel St, Independence, KS 67301).
