She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Schmidt and Ruby Schmidt (Harms). She is survived by: her husband David G. Hawthorne; her sons, Curtis Hawthorne (Sarah) of Sunnyvale, CA and Craig Hawthorne of Tucson, AZ; her grandsons, Levi and Isaac; and her brother Garvie Schmidt (Diane) of Hillsboro.

Memorials may be made to Medora Community Bible Church Missions, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
