He was predeceased by: his parents, John Peter and Beulah May Koestel Jr. (Breeze); his wife Mavis Koestel; and his siblings, Vincent Koestel, Esther Smalley, Corinne Gibson and Velma Hipp.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Koestel (Susan) of Hutchinson, Cindy Koestel of Hutchinson, Kim Humiston (Chris) of Hutchinson, Janet Mora (Daniel) of Liberty Township and Pam Hietmann (Craig) of Richardson, Texas; and his stepchildren, Steve Cannon (Diane) of Hutchinson, Greg Cannon (Debbie) of Maize and Chris Cannon (Kathy) of Hutchinson. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
